Dakota O’Dell won the second RunGood Poker Series An episode at Downstream Casino and Resort near Joplin, Missouri on April 16, which gave him the top prize of $63,647. O’Dell was below a big blind over the short stack when he started play between the last nine, but he didn’t let go at this point. “When you get to the final table with five big blinds, sometimes you cross yourself out. I had people in my corner and it worked this time,” O’Dell said.
The final table took six hours to play, and O’Dell began his rise to the top when he doubled through an eight-hand play, then took the chip lead shortly thereafter. O’Dell grounded Jael Lewis next, and he rolled before a three-out doubled through him. O’Dell found his footing again when he eliminated Richard Hawkins in the fourth, and followed that up with a knockout of Jason Darland in the third after a drawn out battle between the final three players.
