After four launch flights, two second days, and five more days of work, it’s 2023 World Series of Poker The $10,000 No Limit Hold’em Main Event is now down to just 15 players out of a record-breaking total turnout of 10,043. The remaining contenders have now locked in at least $430,200 to get to this point, and are just 14 eliminations away from the championship bracelet and the whopping $12.1 million top payout.
The chip leader after the conclusion of the seventh day is Juan Maceiras Lapido with a score of 108,000,000. The Spanish poker pro (pictured above) was the only player to break the 100 million mark, and he ended the night with nearly 18 percent of the chips in play.
Maceras Lapido is no stranger to tournament success. He finished fifth in 2011 European Poker Tour Grand Final The main event is $467,532.
California’s Adam Walton (79,475,000) has the second-largest cumulative total, scoring the final knockout of the day with a home run edging out Anirban Das’s flush ($16 – $430,200). Walton earned $951,000 in previous earnings, including a deep run in the 2021 Main Event finishing 42nd.
German Jan Peter Yachtmann came in third place, with a score of 70,775,000. 2021 WSOP The winner of the $10,000 maximum Omaha championship event has had over $1.2 million in cash under his belt prior to this tournament.
There are still several other top players in contention, including 2010’s EPT Vilamoura Champion and 2018 Australian millions Main event winner Toby Lewis (50,000,000) twice WPT Main Event Champion and bracelet winner Daniel Weinman (21,750,000), 2008 WSOP No Limit Hold’em runner-up, Alec Torelli (14,275,000).
Weinman got a decisive double courtesy of a flat-out cooler against 19th-ranked Joe Jiu, knocking down a set of middle jacks against a set of bottom eight held by his opponent. Check out a replay of the hand below via a clip from PokerGO’s Exclusive live broadcast coverage.

There were 49 players taking a seat on the seventh day, meaning that 34 competitors were eliminated before play stopped and chips were collected. Among those who fell are bracelet winner Mitchell Halverson ($49 – $188,400), bracelet winner Sam Stein ($46 – $188,400), Japanese content creator Masato Yokosawa ($45 – $188,400), bracelet winner Raj Fuhra ($36 – $229,000) 15 times WSOP Circuit Circuit winner Maurice Hawkins (35th place – $229,000), World Poker Tour Champion Matthew Wantman ($29 – $280,100), Bracelet Winner Gabe Lifshitz ($26 – $345,000), and Ryan Tussock ($25 – $345,000, both WPT Champion and bracelet winner.
Tosoc’s run ended when he ran six pockets into Jachtmann’s pocket scores. None of the players improved and Tosoc had a 10th score of the tournament with six figures or greater. He now has nearly $5.7 million in recorded earnings.
Saw one of the last knockouts of the night WPT hero f European Poker Tour Main event winner Andrei Batychuk hit the rail. His Pocket Triplets could not come from behind against the Pocket Kings of Juan Maceras Lapido and he lost to 17th place ($430,200). This was the fifth largest result in the career of the Russian.
The final 15 will return at 2:00pm local time with a blind of 400,000-800,000 and a big blind of 800,000 for level 36. The average pile of 40,172,000 will represent just over 50 big blinds when the cards are back in the air, with The plan is to play at a nine-player final table and then stop for the day.
