The move is the latest protest against United’s owners by fans who are keen to sell the club.
The Glazer family, which has owned United since 2005, announced last November that it was considering “all strategic alternatives, including new investment in the club, sale, or other transactions.”
This led to potential buyers making offers, but despite receiving several offers, the Glazers have yet to make a final decision on selling their stake in the club.
United have failed to win the Premier League since legendary former manager Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013, with their last Champions League win coming in 2008.
Former Ajax coach Erik ten Hag was appointed as the club’s new coach last year. United won Carabao Cup In the first season of Ten Hag and reached FA cup Final during insurance Champions League Football, finishing third in the league.
However, United have endured a difficult start to the new season, losing three of their six Premier League matches.
The United manager’s woes have been compounded by numerous off-field issues.
Brazilian winger Anthony has agreed to leave the club in order to address abuse accusations made by three women, while team-mate Jadon Sancho is training away from the first-team squad after a public row with the Dutch coach.
Striker Marcus Rashford is out unhurt after being involved in a car crash following United’s 1-0 win over Burnley on Saturday.
