People who suffer from claustrophobia probably don’t want to be stuck in an elevator for a long period of time. A Pennsylvania man recently experienced this scenario firsthand at a casino after accidentally trapping himself inside.
Firefighters rescued a 45-year-old Harrisburg man from an elevator on Dec. 9 at the Hollywood Casino in Grantville. Police allege that he smashed the interior of the elevator, causing the door to malfunction.
No luck in the elevator
All gamblers have experienced some losing sessions at the tables, and a particularly bad hit can spark a rage from time to time, but officers claim this man… He took his frustrations out in the wrong place.
“The investigation revealed that the guest became angry as a result of betting on losses and repeatedly kicked the inner door of the elevator, seriously disabling the elevator and trapping him between the casino floors.” WHTM Reports.
The accident may add more to those losses. State Police are now investigating and criminal charges may be filed soon.
This becomes the latest bizarre incident at a casino in recent weeks. In Fresno, California, a man was accused of vandalizing at least 35 visitors’ cars at Table Mountain Casino. Police allege he left spiked metal devices known as “caltrops” at the casino and on a nearby road to slash visitors’ tires after a “dispute” with the casino.
