Fans had to be restrained by coaches and staff after coming onto the field to confront the referee during the game First League Fixture between Port Vale And Portsmouth on saturday.
Al-Moayad entered the field of play shortly after referee Craig Hicks awarded Portsmouth a penalty Colby Bishop It was converted to give the visitors a 1-0 win.
Hicks ran away from the fan before heading towards the tunnel at Port Vale’s Valley Park before the individual was restrained by head coach Andy Crosby and other staff in the technical area in front of the bench.
The fan was eventually removed from the field and the match was resumed in the third tier of English football.
“Port Vale Football Club condemns the actions of an individual who entered the field of play during today’s match against Portsmouth,” the club said He said in a statement.
“We will work with the relevant authorities to ensure this matter is dealt with and a zero-tolerance approach is taken towards the individual.
“We remind all fans that entering the field of play is a criminal offence.”
The result saw Portsmouth remain at the top of League One while Port Vale are only one place away from the relegation zone.
