Many gamblers like to play at a few casinos during a few nights in Las Vegas. But an anonymous social media personality in Arizona fueled his poker journey even more recently.
“Clue Heywood” visited 26 casinos across the state in 48 hours in late February, documenting the entire trip on Twitter. The plan called for him to travel 1,490 miles, and he would go with a friend for the ultimate road trip “for no other reason than it’s a fun, stupid challenge.”
“To our knowledge, this has never been attempted before. I feel like an astronaut,” he added.
Hit the road
Heywood regularly visits bars and restaurants in the state, sharing his experiences and making some recommendations for followers. The casino trip was something different as it took Heywood all over the state.
Needless to say, with only two days for the casino mission, that didn’t leave much time for betting at each stop – and obviously no time for a poker tournament or an extended cash game. However, he documented all the stops with photos and some anecdotes about each one.
You’ve reached the finish line: Western Diamond Desert Valley. I went to all 26 Arizona tribal casinos in less than 48 hours… in fact, we made it to this place in an extra half hour. Had breakfast drinks and our first meal two days later.
I have no idea what we accomplished here, but it feels good pic.twitter.com/ggwjt92p25

The first stop brought the couple to Bluewater in Parker, located on the western border with California. He noted that the property was playing Blues Traveler and that it would be “a good day despite the late start.”
Surprisingly, Heywood made in a few visits to some other dive bars along the way.
“I had to take a beer break at the Ranch House Saloon in Snowflake, Arizona,” he tweeted. “It’s Saturday night after all. Dive bar in Mormon town. Rare. Well, back on the road to Pinetop and the beautiful Hon-Dah Casino.”
This feature also brought an interesting experience. The social media personality quickly found that the casino had some friendly rules of decorum.
“I don’t know if it was the place or if I was just nervous after this trip, but it was strange there. Plus if you curse they refuse to deal cards until you apologize. “I don’t regret anything.”
Reach the finish line
In the end, Heywood’s adventure covered 1,637 miles in 47.5 hours, and gave followers the opportunity to take a look at some of the state’s unique locations and gambling houses.
In the end, he had no interest in entering the casino any time soon. With only a few possessions remaining, he reflected on the trip using his usual sense of humor.
“We’re committed to getting this job done on time and on budget. I’m a little grumpy because we didn’t eat much. I’m tired of the noise and lights, and I hate people, but other than that it was great.”
A similar challenge was faced by gaming analyst and poker author Jeff Hwang, who visited every casino in Las Vegas as they reopened after the coronavirus crisis. Coronavirus disease-19 pandemic. He then decided to continue driving 2,000 miles to visit all the casinos in Nevada.
