Anthony Cico made his first career poker cashout with a good spin, winning Midstate Poker Tour Ohio poker tournament at jack cleveland casino. He took first prize of $140,771 with a prize MSPT Address late Sunday, February 19th.
The $1,100 Unlimited Hold’em event had a prize pool of $1,008,270 (Ohio’s first poker tournament to hit $1 million) thanks to three starts that drew a total of 1,041 entries. The top 108 players received prize money of at least $2,117. 123 players returned on the final day of the tournament, and the money bubble quickly burst to start the day.
The court made it to the nine-player final table around 10 p.m., and it took just two hours to determine a champion. Quick action saw three players down within the first hour, and after two hours of play only the final four remained.
That’s when the last four players decide to finish their 12 hour poker game with Cico on top. Despite not knocking out a single opponent during the final table, Cico held the chip lead from start to finish during the final stages of the tournament.
“It’s a great feeling, to be honest,” Seko told reporters after the win. He continued, “I haven’t really played poker in a few years, and this was my first time MSPT ever happened so it sounds really cool.”
Other notable prize-winners in the tournament include Jared Engels (11th), Frank Lagodic (16th), Chan Pelton (29th), Josh Richard (62nd), Billy Belousoff (82nd) and Ian Richardson (91st). and Chance Corinth (second place) 108).
