Chad Eveslage now has two World Series of Poker Gold bangles to go with his two World Poker Tour Headlines for major events. The Indiana native emerged victorious in 2023 WSOP Dealer’s Choice event worth $1,500 in hardware insurance and $131,879 in prize money. This second title in the series came just days ago a year after he won his first bracelet after taking down a $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em event with a maximum of eight in 2022. WSOP.
Eveslage now has over $7.6 million in tournament winnings registered to his name, with over $2.5 million of it WSOP grades. In addition to the title and the money, Eveslage also earned a 720 card player Player of the Year marks his last win. This was his first POY– Qualifying result 2023, after recording seven final tables in 2022 to rank sixth in the year-end standings.
This event featured 20 games to choose from for the “dealer” who chose what to play on the next orbit. It was played over three days at Paris and Horseshoe Las Vegas, with 456 entries to create a $608,760 prize pool that was ultimately shared by the top 68 contestants.
Eveslage had a tough final table to contend with, including the likes of bracelet winners John Rassner (4th), Nick Coast (3rd) and Andrew Kelsall (2nd). Despite the stiff competition, Eveslage somewhat escaped with the title, maintaining the chip lead throughout the final table.
In the deciding hand, Eveslage picked off a badeucey round. He made a low of 8-6-5-3-2 with an 8-6-3-2 badugi to take the pot, leaving Kelsall with less than half the pot. Soon that went into No Limit Hold’em. Keslall’s 6-4 couldn’t beat Q-7 from Eveslage, with no player making contact with the board by the end.
Kelsall earned $81,509 as runner-up, the fourth most score of his career. 2020 WSOP World casino championship The winner now has over $2.7 million in lifetime tournament winnings under his belt.
