The money bubble looms on the record-breaking third day of 2023 World Series of Poker The $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event has ended. There are now only 1,517 players left of the largest turnout ever in the written history of the event: 10,043 players. That means just ten more eliminations will see the 1,507 competitors lock in at least $15,000 as they continue to hunt for the gold bracelet for this year’s championship and the staggering top payout of $12,100,000.
Chip leader Antonio Malol Heredia with a score of 1,899,000. The Spanish player will be in an excellent position to deny him his previous high of $49,610 which he earned with fourth place in 2018. Los Angeles Poker Open $1,100 for the main event.
The second largest group heading into the fourth day will only belong to the three-time bracelet winner and World Poker Tour Chance Cornoth. The 37-year-old professional poker player got as much as 1,887,000 to put him just under the big blind outside the lead.
Kornuth has been extremely hot this summer. Since the beginning of June, he has won 11 times in the money, including five finishes at the final table and one title he earned in the $2,200 mystery bonus event at Win Summer Classic. His spree has seen him add over $3.6 million to his career earnings, bringing his lifetime total to $16.1 million.
Kornuth also had his first seven-figure payday during this stretch, finishing fifth in the series’ $250,000 high roller bracelet buy event for $1,202,318. He can another million-plus payday by making it into the top eight in the event. Full tournament payments can be found at the bottom of this article.
In addition to Kornuth, there are several other notables with seven-figure piles at the end of day three, including bracelet winner Pei Lei (1,742,000), Nicholas Rigby (1,719,000), bracelet winner Michael Banducci (1,469,000), two-time bracelet winner Chris Brewer (1,447,000), bracelet winner Jonathan Demig (1,446,000), bracelet winner Nikita Luther (1,294,000), bracelet winner David Moses (1,181,000), twice World Poker Tour Champion James Carroll (1,164,000), winner of the Luke Chan bracelet (1,146,000), two-time bracelet winner card player Player of the Year award winner Stephen Chedwick (1,106,000), two-time bracelet winner Jesse Lounis (1,100,000), Shota Nakanishi bracelet winner (1,072,000), three-time bracelet Yuri Dzielewski (1,059,000), the all-time leader WSOP Circuit Ring winner Maurice Hawkins (1,028,000) and bracelet winner Jason Somerville (1,027,000).
Several former main event champions are still alive and have a chance to repeat, including 2003 winner Chris Moneymaker (783,000), 2017 winner Scott Blumstein (618,000), 2009 winner Joe Cada (255,000), and bracelet winner for ten. times and two. – Time Main Event Champion Johnny Chan (367,000), and Jimmy Gould (187,000), who won the most previous main event in history back in 2006 when he topped a field of 8,773.
Day 3 kicked off with 3,538 players remaining, meaning that more than 2,000 players saw their runs in the Main Event come to an end before the day’s event ended. The last 1,517 players will return for Day 4 at noon on Monday, July 10th. Players will return to between 4,000 and 8,000 blinds with 8,000 big blinds for level 16. The average chip stack of 397,218 represents nearly 50 big blinds when the cards return to the air in the biggest main event of all time.
