Chelsea have reached an agreement with Vasco da Gama to sign young midfielder Andre Santos, sources have confirmed to ESPN.
The 18-year-old Santos attracted interest from Manchester City, Newcastle United and Barcelona but the London club moved faster.
Sources say personal terms won’t be an issue now that an undisclosed fee has been agreed. The deal is expected to complete in January.

An international with Brazil at U-20 level, Santos made his senior debut for Vasco in 2021 and was a regular last season in the Brazilian second tier, scoring eight goals as Vasco finished fourth.
Signing Santos continues Chelsea’s recruitment of young talent after Todd Boyle took over.
Last summer, they signed Carni Chukwuemica from Aston Villa, Cesar Casady from Inter Milan and Chicago Fire goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina.
