DraftKings brings gambling to a Detroit mall.
Kings and Live! Hospitality and Entertainment announced this week that the former will open a venue this fall in Somerset Collection, a mall in Motor City.
In July 2021, DraftKings and Sports & Social announced a strategic relationship to create the venue.
The collaboration will bring Live! Hospitality and Leisure market leadership in operating first-class high-energy dining and entertainment venues with industry-leading sports platforms DraftKings.
“We are thrilled to launch the first Sports & Social DraftKings game and offer customers in Michigan our innovative sportsbook mobile app with an exciting personalized experience,” said Michael Keyport, Retail Director of Sports Books at DraftKings. “With the strong support of Live! Hospitality and Entertainment, we believe we have created a premier destination for dining, sports and entertainment for the masses.”
The venue will include 32 feet Drove Media wall and hosting game day viewing parties.

The space will measure 10,400 square feet and will be located in a freestanding building adjacent to Somerset Collection South.

Additional sites for Sports and Community Kings are expected to be announced in the coming months. DraftKings no. 2 US sports betting company based on market share, lagging only behind its competitor FanDuel.
