The flags of Australia and New Zealand will be flown at all matches of the Women’s World Cup, after FIFA approved a request from soccer organizations in Australia and New Zealand.
The Australian national flag, the Australian Aboriginal flag and the Torres Strait Islander flag will be displayed at 35 matches held in Australia.

“These important flags express the spirit of mutual respect, national identity and recognition of the indigenous cultures of our hosts,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino said on Friday.
Australian Football chief executive James Johnson called the approval “an important moment for all Australians, especially First Nations people”.
“This decision is in line with our organization’s values, with diversity and inclusion at the heart of what we are about as a governing body and our vision for the tournament,” he said.
Football New Zealand chief executive Andrew Pragnell also applauded FIFA’s approval.
“Hosting…provides an opportunity to shape the way the tournament evolves and interacts with its hosts in future editions, particularly in recognizing the rights of indigenous peoples around the world,” he said.
“Flying Tino Rangatiratanga in the tournament along with the official country flag is a powerful symbol.”
