After five days of action, it was longtime poker pro John Riordan who finished all chips, claiming his eighth career title and first place prize of $176,221.
“I wasn’t expecting much coming into the final table, finishing sixth out of nine,” said Riordan. “But I knew if some good things happened, it would be anyone’s heroism. I’m so happy and lucky that it turned out to be mine.”
Riordan made his move late in the tournament, battling with a small combo most of the way until a series of good cards catapulted him up the leaderboard.
“The biggest turning point has occurred [day 2], since I had the starting stack all day. Then I went from 100,000 to 2,000,000 in 2 hours, won it all, and made tons of hands. It was so much fun.”
Riordan now has $2.6 million in gross earnings. His biggest score remains the $210,180 he pocketed for his removal WSOP Circuit Club Palm Beach Kennel Club A major event in 2011 when he was just 19 years old. It is where he obtained his first of the five circle rings. The Florida native also won the US Poker Open Championship 2021 Championship.
In addition to the title, trophy, and payout, Riordan also earned 900 card player Player of the Year Points, a race sponsored by Global Poker.
The tournament featured three kickoffs and re-entries, giving players plenty of opportunities to find a bag. The final 82 advance to day two, but only 46 will turn a profit, earning at least $5,430.

Jayakrishnan Nair was the chip leader on day 1C overnight but lost a huge bet at the final table when AK ran in both pocket kings and pocket votes to lose the majority of his chip stack, eventually sending him to 9th. It was the second final table of the year for Nir, who finished second in February Los Angeles Poker Classic The main event.
It was even cooler who got Ben Palmer too. The Florida native has made The Venetian his second home over the years, racking up 145 chests and $1.28 million in earnings on the property alone. (The inaugural edition was won by Elaine Shulman CPPT Venice Happening again in 2013 for $293,966.) Schulman was navigating a massive pile when his pocket Kings were busted by an AK late on the second day. He was later sent home in the seventh when eight pockets edged out pocket sevens. The two-time bracelet winner has now earned over $5.9 million in career earnings.
former card player Staffer-turned-pro Andrew Moreno was next to lose, losing most of his stack when his two doubles fell into a split stack. It was Moreno’s fifth final schedule of the year, which also includes a title he won in Venice in February for $242,293. He now has $3.5 million in tournament earnings.
Despite his elimination, Andrew was in no hurry to leave the final table area. He had to sweat it out for his brother Johnny, who was still at the table and playing for a six-figure wage.
The next player eliminated was Dan Colboys. The MSPT The champion, who has had recent success in rapid events, found himself whining on social media about the deep structure of the tournament just minutes after sitting out Day One A. Of course, it is called DeepStack Extravaganza For some reason, the Colpoys ironically finished day one as the overall chip leader. His career finally ended in fifth place when he turned his AJ into an AK, bringing him to $2.8 million in career earnings.

Playing Three Hands took about 90 minutes and saw some big swings on the leaderboard. In the end, it was Johnnie “Vibes” Moreno’s turn on the poker blog to fall, ironically losing with two pairs in the downstream position, just like his brother Andrew. (Both are pictured below).
Johnny joked that he was on the fence about playing in the tournament until he saw Andrew carry the second largest total on Day 1 A. The two automatically exchange 5% of their moves with each other in whatever event they play. But this time, it was Johnny who had to shell out more cash.
Head-to-head was a much shorter affair. Although Riordan and Carl Ammann started with nearly identical combinations of 60 big blinds each, it didn’t take long to determine the champion.
In the end, Oman raised the button and Riordan defended his big blind. K permutation fell. 5 2 And Riordan checked. Oman made a continual bet and Riordan increased. Amman called, and it was turn 3. Riordan bet, and Oman thought about it for a bit before moving inside. Riordan killed it with a losing set and five, only needing to fade four when Oman A offered 2 to pull the wheel.
