Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has blasted his team’s effort in a humiliating 3-0 Premier League defeat by Brighton & Hove Albion, which he described as the worst ever in his reign.
Winger Solly March scored twice and set up Brighton’s third as they dominated the game from start to finish, with Liverpool barely able to put together a single decent attack.

“Very disappointed, congratulations to Brighton for a great match against a bad opponent,” said the angry Klopp. “We weren’t good today, I don’t remember a good stage or period.”
He added, “Getting better than today should be easy, because that’s a really low point. I don’t remember a worse match.”
Despite losing 3-1 at Brentford in their last Premier League game on January 2, Klopp said he was confident coming into Saturday’s game that his side could secure a much-needed victory.
“There was no indication of that pre-game performance, but maybe that is the case sometimes. There is nothing that I thought yesterday or this morning that this could happen.”
Liverpool’s season was derailed by poor performances and injuries to key players, with captain Virgil van Dijk missing due to a hamstring strain and recent signing Cody Jacobo up front due to the absence of Darwin Nunez.
As a result, the Reds struggled to maintain possession and Brighton managed to make the most of the chances they had.
“In these moments we have passed from the last line up front, and when we want to push the ball in, it has already gone again. For this reason, it is just a counter-kick.” [attacks] On their part it always seems awful.”
Liverpool ranks eighth in the standings table with 28 points, seven points behind fourth-placed Newcastle United, who currently occupies last place in the Champions League.
