Konstantin Petrushev is the latest player to receive a gold bracelet in 2022 World Series of Poker. The Las Vegas-based player defeated a field of 2,858 entries in the Omaha deepstack event with a $600 entry limit to close out the hardware and receive the best career payout of $14,466.
This was a fast-paced event, with 30-minute levels and a solid chassis that helped narrow the sea of champion arrivals in just two days of excitement. The last day started with only 67 players left and Guillaume Sommier in the lead.
A number of notables made their way to the final table, including five-time bracelet winner Sean Depp ($57 – $3,069), world champion Koray Aldemir ($56 – $3,069) and two-time bracelet winner Tommy Lee ($47 – 4341). USD, Alan Lowe (US$25 – 6,351) and Ren Lin (US$23 – 7,779).
By the time the final unofficial table of ten was decided, Petrochev had climbed to sixth place while Sommer remained in the lead. Petrushev hit Rafael Motta in eighth ($24,250) to continue his lead. Soumier took an aces against Benjamin Miner ($7 – $31184) and held it to narrow the field to six contenders.
Greg Mirko flopped from the nut flush to take down Philippe Billault in sixth place ($40,417). Soon, Vivian Saliba followed Pelluault to the railway line. The Brazilian got it all in a pair and drew a tie in a trailing showdown and a straight pull higher for Sommier. This role gave Selba an impulse to go with her other naysayers. River gave both players away, but Saumier was the best and Saliba was eliminated in fifth place ($52,795).
Soumier fell to the bottom of the leaderboard during a short handed move. He finally got it all in 742 flop with K.K63. Petrushev had pressured J986. The role brought four more to pair the board, keeping Sommer ahead. Five on the river gave both players a straight line, but Petrushev’s eight-height line was the best. Soumier earned $69,501 as the fourth place finisher.
Igor Ioffe got it all with a pair of kings up against a Merkow wheel spinning. Demon on the River gave him a high five in a row to send Ioffe home with $92,200 for his third-place appearance.
The confrontational match with Petroshev began in the lead. He extended his supremacy before the last hand appeared. All chips entered the number 732 Flipping with Merkow Holding Qy62. Petrochev was ahead by 5433 For the middle group and open straight pull. Turn and River brought no help and Merkow was eliminated in second place ($123,251).
