Nevada law enforcement officials take casino fraud very seriously, and players accused of colluding with a Las Vegas-area dealer are now facing some serious charges.
The Nevada Gaming Control Commission began investigating several people in May 2022 who were believed to be involved in cheating at Rampart Casino, located in the Las Vegas suburb of Summerlin. Agents eventually arrested two people, but were unable to contact 28-year-old gambling dealer Yuxuan Leng until November 2.
Ling was then arrested and allegedly involved in the fraud efforts. She is now charged with attempted cheating at a gambling game and two counts of cheating at a gambling game.
Alleged collusion with other players
Law enforcement reported that baccarat players at the casino were winning more than usual. Control Board investigators reviewed surveillance footage and determined that Leng was one of several dealers who allegedly intentionally exposed cards to players.
These moves revealed the outcome of the match before players placed their bets, allowing them to secure winning bets. The two players won a total of $12,400 during two sessions at the casino while Leng was dealing, the control board reported.
“After knowing the likely outcome of the match, (the two players) were able to bet more in order to benefit from the information Ling provided to them,” the dashboard report said.
After her arrest, Ling was released on her own recognizance.
