A medical report issued on Monday stated that the health of Brazilian soccer legend Pele is improving, but there are still no expectations about when he will be discharged from the hospital after he was admitted there late last month.
Pele, 82, has been battling colon cancer since September 2021 and was hospitalized on November 29 so doctors can reassess his treatment. He is also being treated for a respiratory infection that was diagnosed after his admission to the hospital.
“The patient continues to show improvement in clinical condition, particularly of respiratory infection. He is still in a normal room, conscious and with stable vital signs,” said medical staff at the Albert Einstein Hospital in São Paulo.
