Poker Stories is a long-form audio podcast series featuring informal interviews with some of the best players and personalities in the game. Each episode spotlights a well-known member of the poker world and dives deep into their favorite tales both in and out of the ordinary.
Mike Holtz spent his teenage years as one of the best players. In fact, at one point, he was considered the best player in World of Warcraft and was recruited to join a mobile league called the World Series of Video Gaming. Unfortunately for the Maryland native, the league fell apart, leaving him searching for his next step in life.
There were several jobs and even a stint in prison, but after rediscovering his love of poker at a local home game, Holtz decided to move across the country to Las Vegas to be closer to the action. Although he started out in cash games, he found himself better suited to tournaments, specifically online WSOP.com under the name “BrockLesnar”. It was there that he won b WSOP Circuit Ring and was crowned the best player in 2021. Then, in 2022, the 32-year-old added his first number WSOP bracelet.
