Brad Owen discovered poker while in high school, and learned the game by studying the poker programs his father brought home from work. He continued to play throughout college and even when he earned his master’s degree in accounting, but a nine-to-five job was never in the cards for the Santa Rosa, California native.
Owen eventually gave up his day job as CPA To move to Las Vegas and try to play professional poker. He’d spent years anonymously grinding at cash-game tables, but wanted a way he could share his journey with his friends and family back home. Owen took a cue from his good friend Andrew-nim, and started his own life YouTube channelWrite down your poker sessions for all to see.
After just over five years, Owen has become one of the most popular YouTube vloggers. The 34-year-old has over 600,000 subscribers, which puts him alongside Daniel Negreanu as the most watched poker channel online today. In 2019, he won the Poker Personality of the Year at the World Booker Awards, and this year, he added the Best Vlogger award to his position.
When he’s not filming his play, Owen keeps busy with the Meet-Up Games (MUGs) that take place all over the country, including his poker room. Owen recently became a minority owner of The Lodge Card Club House near Austin, Texas along with the aforementioned Doug Polk and Neeme. Owen is also the newest brand ambassador for world poker tour He will appear in various events throughout the season.
