2024 Poker player tour of venice The $1,600 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event attracted a field of 457 entries, eliminating a $400,000 guarantee to create a final prize pool of $648,940.
There are now only 59 players left to compete for the title and the $115,989 grand prize, with all remaining competitors having raised money and locking in at least $3,383 to get that far. The full list of payments can be found here.
Day 1 attracted 213 entries. Day 1A saw 90 attendees, while 154 entries were made on Day 1B. Just 12.5 percent of the field advanced from each flight, with 27 people moving on from Day 1C to join 12 from Day 1A and 20 from Day 1B.
The chip leader from Day 1C, and overall chip leader, is Esther Kim with 854,000. On her heels are Evan Rubin from Day 1 (741,000), Michael Rossetto from Day 1 (733,000), Mira Velez (725,000) and Landon Tice from Day 1 (705,000).
Kim chopped it up big during a hand-to-hand workout at the end of the night. Robin won one of the biggest bets of the day, a champion calling to continue his life in the tournament on the river with nine pockets on a queen-high board. He bested a high bluff from Daniel Smiljkovic to take the pot and move up the standings during the final hours of the day.
There are two World Poker Tour Venice Main event champions still in contention: 2021 winner Cheng Liu (612,000) and 2019 champion Ben Palmer (485,000).
Other notable figures who have claimed the title include bracelet winner Nicholas Pupillo (482,000), bracelet winner Mike Holtz (366,000), Darren Rabinowitz (264,000), two-time bracelet winner Shannon Schorr (243,000), and two-time bracelet winner Jesse Yaginuma (205,000). Alexander Reard (188,000), 2013 WSOP Main Event Champions Ryan Reese (114,000) and Ryan LaPlante (108,000).
The final kickoff trip concluded with the 2021 elimination CPPT Venice Hero Ankush Mandaviya. The bracelet winner was forced to go all-in in the big blind and was unable to come back from behind at 6-3 against Landon Tice’s A-9.
Day 2 starts at 11:00 AM local time. Blinds will be rolled back to the closest ending time for the three starting flights, meaning there will be 37:24 left in level 18 (5,000-10,000 with 10,000 big ante) when play resumes.
