Wrexham claimed their first win on a pre-season tour of the United States, defeating Los Angeles Galaxy II 4-0 in Carson, Calif., on Saturday.
After losing 5-0 to Chelsea in North Carolina on Wednesday, Wrexham, owned by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhinney, found it much easier in the shadow of Hollywood.

Paul Mullen, one of the central figures in the club’s ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ documentary and their sensational promotion from the Premier League last season, was once again Wrexham’s main man, providing two assists and a goal of his own.
After a scoreless first half, Mullen scored twice in the first 10 minutes of the second half to help the Welsh side secure victory over the second young Galaxy team.
Firstly Mullen found Andrew Cannon with a fine pass behind the Galaxy 2 defense to put Wrexham ahead in the 47th minute. Eight minutes later, he calmly volleyed a cross into the path of Elliott Lee for a low first goal.
Mullen, who scored 38 goals last season to help Wrexham climb to the fourth tier of the Premier League, then found the net himself in the 65th minute after sliding in to force Wrexham back from close range.
Three minutes later, substitute Anthony Forde wrapped up the scoring after following up a saved shot.
LA Galaxy II, who finished second from bottom in the Western Conference to MLS Next Pro – in the third tier of American soccer – didn’t have an answer for their more experienced opponents and could have beaten them more, with Mullin also rattling the post in the second half.
Wrexham next meet Premier League giants Manchester United in San Diego on Tuesday before wrapping up their US tour with a match against Philadelphia Union II in a week’s time.
