Despite Twitch’s policy on gambling sending former stars like xQc and many viewers to its popular Kick rival, the Amazon-owned company has now imposed stricter rules. On Wednesday, Twitch Support announced via Twitter that the company had added online casinos Blaze and Gamdom to its list of banned sites:
Twitch revealed that the addition of Blaze and Gamdom is the result of operators trying to find new strategies to infiltrate gambling content onto the platform. In the statement confirming the ban, Twitch said its goal remains to address “predatory behaviour”. Blaze and Gamdom are now joined by Stake, Roobet, Duelbits, and Rollbit Twitch’s list of banned brands.
Kick was formed the same month as Prohibition and immediately faced an exodus
As Twitch continues its anti-gambling crusade that it launched in October, the brand that birthed the policy continues to grow. Alternative streaming platform Kick was formed the same month as the ban and immediately attracted an exodus of creators from Twitch. Most recently, the Stake-backed site signed a $100 million partnership with former Twitch star xQc in June.
