A whiff of methamphetamine allegedly entered a Caesars Palace hostage case in Las Vegas in which the suspect agreed to plead guilty. Meanwhile, in California, a convicted felon has been charged with first degree murder by a jury who killed his partner in an illegal casino business.
While both crimes are rambling enough, the Caesars Palace hostage situation took another twist on Monday. Suspect Matthew Mannix agreed to plead guilty to reduce the charges, and it also emerged that Mannix and the unnamed woman had been using drugs for days prior to the hostage situation.
He will pay $55,292 in damages to Caesar.
After smoking “a small amount of meth” in the high-rise tower room on the 21st floor, Mannix smashed a window and began throwing furniture, causing panic in the strip last month. The Las Vegas City Police Department locked down the area in response. Mannix’s attorney stated that he would pay $55,292 in damages to Caesar.
In California, the outlook is even bleaker for Lucifer Darnell Pierce after a Bakersfield jury finds him guilty of first-degree murder of Mubarak al-Najjar. The convicted criminal believes his carpenter business partner has been stealing profits from his illegal internet casino business. Shot in 2021.
Pierce faces 50 years to life in prison.
