BetMGM, in collaboration with Inspired Entertainment, has launched MGM Bonus City, a new type of online casino game called the “Hybrid Dealer” game. Only available in New Jersey at the moment, but soon coming to Pennsylvania and Michigan, it is the only hybrid dealer in North America.
Hybrid dealer games combine elements of live dealer and regular online casino games. As in live dealer games, there is a human on the screen. But the difference is that a human is pre-recorded and does not actually handle the games directly. Like standard iGaming, results are all based on RNG.
To prevent it from becoming outdated, merchants or hosts are changed regularly.
like Positioned by BetMGM, the Hybrid Dealer technology “seamlessly integrates virtual CGI technology, green screen technology and footage of real dealers” to make the online casino experience feel as real as possible. To prevent it from becoming outdated, merchants or hosts are changed regularly.
It’s basically a cost-cutting move while trying to maintain the feel of popular live dealer games. The operator does not need to manage and pay for staff and studios around the clock, but is still able to provide an experience that emulates a live dealer game well enough to satisfy customers.
MGM Bonus City is currently available on desktop, the BetMGM sportsbook app, and Android; The iOS version will be available in a few weeks.
