PENN Entertainment has announced that two of its brands are now official online sports betting partners of the NHL. ESPN Bet and theScore Bet will work alongside the league on marketing campaigns, to provide a variety of experiences for fans, and to protect the integrity of the game. The agreement between PENN and the NHL begins immediately.
The partnership with the two betting brands will further enhance fan engagement
Jason Jazayeri, the NHL’s vice president of business development, spoke of the league’s “excitement in being one of the first leagues to partner with ESPN BET and PENN Entertainment,” referring to its long-term media rights deal with ESPN. Jazayeri believes that the partnership with these two betting brands will enhance fan engagement even further.
Penn Interactive’s senior vice president of marketing and content, Aubrey Levy, also welcomed the agreement. He believes it’s a particularly noteworthy partnership for theScore Bet, which operates in Ontario, as the “popularity of hockey” is unparalleled in the Canadian province.
