Bally’s Evansville Hotel & Casino is the first property of its kind in the country to be rated StormReady. National Weather Service leaders awarded the Indiana casino a certificate of accreditation Thursday afternoon.
The certification will last for four years, at which point it will need to be approved by the Board of Directors for another term. Chris Mytton, Bally’s Director of Risk and Safety, noted that the property has already ticked off a lot of requirements for accreditation.
Casino employees receive training on the emergency notification system
The most important improvement recently was that casino staff received training in an emergency notification system that allows them to send important information to guests within seconds. This can be very useful during severe weather and other types of emergencies, especially when there are up to 3,000 people on the property on certain weekends.
