In just his second year of eligibility, Brian Rast was elected to the Poker Hall of Fame. Celebrating him at a ceremony in front of the No-Limit Hold’em for the $979 World Series of Poker Hall of Fame, World Series of Poker Vice President Jacques Ifill called Rast “one of the best poker players we’ve ever seen”.
Afterward, Rast and his family attended the unveiling of his portrait at the new Poker Hall of Fame exhibit at Horseshoe Las Vegas.
Rast has two major resume points, both proven at the WSOP 2023. He won the $50,000 Poker Players Championship, becoming only the second player to win it three times (Michael “The Grinder “Mizrachi” was the first); in his HOF acceptance speech, he described Rast with his “favorite” achievements in poker. With this victory, Rast also became only the 19thy A player to win six bracelets at the WSOP.
The only player to score $1 million in tournament prize money for seven consecutive years
All told, Rast has over $25 million in career live tournament winnings and is the only player to score $1 million in tournament money seven consecutive years.
Perhaps more than his tournament prowess, though, Rast is known among his peers for dominating high-stakes cash games. In an interview with Poker News In 2021 before the age of 40y A birthday (40 is the minimum age for Hall of Fame eligibility), Rast said he deserved to be in the Hall, saying, “Hall of Famers that play in Bobby’s Room (at the Bellagio) know who the best cash game players are.”
