In January 2022, Quan Tran was victorious in Choctaw World Series of Poker $1700 from No-Limit Hold’em Main Event, to win your first event WSOPC Gold ring, grand prize $336,412. A little over half a year later, Tran found himself again with a file WSOPC Choctaw Main event title on line. Danny Marks defeated Tran this time, defeating Tran to secure his first championship ring and the best payday of his career with $246,820. Tran earned $152,553 as a runner-up after being just under second WSOPC Choctaw Main event title in one year.
“I have no words now, this whole tournament has been a crazy experience for me,” Marks said. WSOP . World Series of Poker Reporters after coming out on top. “I am so grateful. I need a night to let everything sink in, I am so happy now.”
“A lot of these players are very strong players,” Marks continued. “A lot of them have more tournament experience than me. I come from a cash background, I still understand the depths of the tournament stack, but I learned a lot from playing against them. I was incredibly lucky to have been able to beat them.”
Marks passed a field of the 931 total entries that went out to the Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma, with Marks taking the largest share of the $14,10465 prize pool as the champ. The nearby resident of Dallas, Texas also took home 912 card player Player of the Year points for winning, enough to move him into the top 400 in 2022 POY sponsored race Global Poker.
Lots of notables were among the 141 players who won money in this event, including recently ARIA roller high Event winner Justin Bond ($70-$3273), Adrian Buckley bracelet winner ($35-$4963), 2022 WSOP . World Series of Poker Hara Cherokee Circuit Main Event Champion Jared Ingels ($34 – $4,963), 2022 WSOP . World Series of Poker Main Event 67th place winner Andrew Watson ($21 – 10,033), bracelet winner Brian Greene ($19 – 10,033), and most recently Choctaw World Series of Poker Main event runner-up Stephen Buckner (11th place – $19,655).
After two rides and a 13-hour day 2 session, there are still 13 competitors heading into the final day of this event. Dakota O’Dell led the way, while Marks was 10th when the cards were back in the air. O’Dell went to fifth, earning $65,591 after losing the majority of his package total moments earlier to Marks, with eight offenses in the pocket kings outlets.
Four-time bracelet winner Bradley Robin was the next to hit the rails. He got all he had with nine pockets and was racing against KQ for Marks. The big fluctuation saw Marks take a big lead, which he kept across the river to narrow the playing field to just three players. Robin earned $86,051 as the fourth place finisher, increasing his career earnings to over $1.1 million in the process.
Marks was well up front when he started with three arms, but Tran closed the gap in a big way when he entered the stack in the A.752 plank with tran holding aK against a3 Nicolas Myrctic. s River closed the vessel to two liters, while Mircetic came out in third place ($114,015).
