Son Heung-min gave a perfect response to their loss to Tottenham Hotspur when he scored a hat-trick in 13 minutes in a 6-2 win over bottom club Leicester City on Saturday.
The South Korean international was the Premier League’s top scorer last season but did not score in his first eight games with Tottenham.
But, instead of Richarlison in the 59th minute, Son hit an unstoppable right-footed shot in the top corner for the first time (73), then with his left foot on the other side (84) and completed a hat-trick with an initially excluded goal. Offside in the 86th minute.
“I was disappointed, the team did really well, but I was disappointed with my performance,” Son said afterwards. “I knew the goals were coming and I wasn’t worried. I always had great supporters, teammates and coaches behind me.”

Son’s effort tied Chelsea’s Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink for the second-fastest substitute hat-trick in Premier League history – behind Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who scored three goals in 10 minutes off the bench in the 8-1 win over Nottingham. Forest in February 1999.
But if you thought Son was on the verge of being the fastest hat-trick in the Premier League, you would be very wrong. He is tied in the sixteenth position.
