F1 is coming to Las Vegas
The popular Formula 1 (F1) racing series has just won the award for the best promotion of the year with its latest stunt in Las Vegas.
Drive through the casino floor
A Red Bull-sponsored F1 car drove across the casino floor at the Wynn Resort on Thursday night. If this isn’t a perfect representation of the opulence of a desert oasis, then nothing is.
F1 is still a year away from its first-ever race in Las Vegas, but Thursday’s stunt attracted plenty of attention. Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell are also in town this weekend for the upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix launch party, adding to the growing excitement.
Red Bull does it again
Red Bull is known for its daring moves in the world of sports.
In 2006 Travis Pastrana got the first double rear lip in Moto X history wearing Red Bull gear. In 2016, Felix Baumgartner went skydiving — literally into the stratosphere — as part of the Red Bull campaign.
The debut of a Red Bull F1 inside a casino was unprecedented, to say the least. If nothing else, it gave local gamblers a memory they will never forget.
The plan is for F1’s schedule for next season to hold 24 races around the world, including qualifying and actual events. If the board of directors can arrange all their dates, the next season will be the most active in the history of the sport.
A 3.8 mile loop in the heart of downtown
The Las Vegas circuit will be at the end of the campaign, giving drivers the chance to win a world title in the most extravagant location. The course will feature a 3.8-mile loop in the heart of downtown, showcasing monuments, hotels, and casinos.
Drivers prepare for Sin City
Next year’s Las Vegas series is one of three races to be held in the United States, along with Miami, Florida and Austin, Texas.
Tickets are already on sale for the Las Vegas event. The cheapest purchase is $500, while the most expensive is $10,000. Perhaps one of those Red Bulls can win you enough money to cover the cost the next time you drive through a casino.
The current best player in F1 is Max Verstappen, who drives Red Bull
The best dog currently in F1 is Max Verstappen, who drives for Red Bull. The Dutch-born driver has 416 points, while fellow Red Bull driver Sergio Perez is second with 280 points.
Red Bull also leads the Constructors’ standings with 696, ahead of Ferrari (487) and Mercedes (447). Red Bull has 16 wins out of a possible 20; Ferrari has the other four.
The F1 Las Vegas event will take place from November 16-18, 2023. Fans flock to the area as the local community continues to approach tourism levels before the pandemic.
