A casino worker in Michigan stole $700,000 from her employer and the money is still missing after she was arrested.
A casino worker in Michigan allegedly stole $700,000 from her employer and the money is still missing. Police arrested Danica Nicole Young on Wednesday and charged her with embezzling an employee of $100,000 or more.
The robbery took place on July 30 at Four Wind Casino Hartford. Authorities interviewed the 38-year-old in Gary, Indiana, but she did not have the money.
Young was a cash cage supervisor and was responsible for millions of dollars
An investigator on the case explained how Young was a cash cage supervisor who was responsible for millions of dollars. She claims she got a call from an unknown number who told her to take $700,000 from the casino and bring it to Indiana.
It is unclear who was the recipient of the money bag. Young’s bail is $1 million and she will hear a potential case on Wednesday after being extradited from Indiana to Michigan. She faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
Casino workers stealing money from their workplace is nothing new. A cashier at Monarch Casino in Colorado walked out of the facility with $500,000 in March. This was the largest casino robbery in the history of the state.
