Hoffman’s campaign began a week and a half ago with a fifth-place showing in the $5,000 8-game event for $31,150. He then scored back-to-back second place finishes, earning $100,800 in the $10,000 Triple Draw combination and $103,400 in the $10,000 Triple Draw combination.
He took home money for the third straight day in the $10,000 Dealer’s Choice prize, finishing sixth with another $28,200. But he saved the best for last, finishing fourth in the $25,000 10-game tournament for a cash-best of $112,750.
Hoffman now has $580,000 in earnings, more than two-thirds of which came from the mixed game series. He also pocketed $56,000 for finishing fourth in the $10,000 8-Game event last October.
Despite finishing fourth in the end, Hoffman was a bit of a sweat with three-time bracelet winner Dan Zack, who is still in contention. The New Jersey native needed a second-place finish or better to defend his 2023 title, but fell short of third place with $153,750.
