It only took two days for a massive group of 4,062 $800 No-Limit Hold’em entrants to play against a champion in this week’s Deepstack Tournament in 2022 World Series of Poker.
Despite a modest entry, players were able to compete for a prize pool of $2,859,648, with $358,346 going to the eventual winner. In the end, the title and big win went to Minnesota poker player Rob Wazwaz, who also received his first bracelet of his career.
“It was my third final table, but for the first time in a long time,” said Wuzwaz. WSOP . World Series of Poker reporters. “At the time, I wasn’t that experienced. I didn’t play them right when I got deeper. But I’ve come a long way, and my dream was to get out here and win a bracelet. I ran so pure and so pure. This was the purest tournament I’ve had in my entire life.”
This was the biggest result in the Wiswas’ career, although he had found the winner’s circle before. In 2017, he won an award Heartland Indiana Poker Tour Main Event for $173,385 and in 2018, he removed MSPT Shakopee Main event for another $109375. Wazwaz scored several victories at the Canterbury Park Card Club near his home, including Minnesota State Series of Poker.
His previous best result in WSOP . World Series of Poker He returned in 2014, when he placed seventh in the $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em event for $50,246.
The final table featured players from Israel, France, India and Canada, as well as the United States. Highly successful bracelet winners in the championship include Abhinav Iyer (7th), Sean Drake (48th), Will Givens (87th), Roberly Felicio (88th) and Anatoly Zirin (98th).
This was the first of two Deepstack events to buy $800 in WSOP . World Series of Poker a program. Round two kicks off on Thursday, July 14th.
