Western Australia Police responded to a call after the body of a woman in her 30s was discovered in a hotel room at Crown Perth Casino. Paramedics were unable to revive her when they arrived at the scene early Monday morning. A 42-year-old man who was known to the victim was also found in a Crown Towers hotel room on the 12th floor with serious injuries.
The two people knew each other
Police arrested the man before he could receive treatment at Royal Perth Hospital. A police spokesman confirmed that the two people know each other, and investigations are still underway to determine the circumstances of the events. Authorities ask anyone with information about this matter to contact them.
A murder investigation has been launched and a Crown Resorts spokesperson confirmed the company is cooperating with police, as well as supporting staff.
The Crown Towers hotel has been open since December 2016 and has about 500 rooms, and its development cost is about 600 million Australian dollars (382 million US dollars).
