A class action lawsuit accuses online gaming platform Roblox of not only operating as an “illegal gambling ring that preys on children,” but also those minors who gambled thousands of dollars.
Moms Rachel Colvin and Danielle Sass filed the lawsuit against Roblox Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. The plaintiffs claim that their children lost money in the form of “internal currency for Roblox on third party gambling websites”.
according to bloombergthe lawsuit claims that third-party online casinos RBXFlip, Bloxflip, and RBLXWild allow users to register and gamble With Robux. Colvin and Sass stated that despite previously being denied access to online gambling funds:
Kids “now have, collectively, billions in Robux at their disposal.”
The mothers stated that they were unaware of their children’s use of Robux for gambling at the time, and called for a trial by jury. Weitz & Luxenberg, PC and Johnson Firm represent the parent plaintiffs.
