After residents of Henderson in Clark County experienced sweltering temperatures and freak hailstorms on Monday, they were treated to another drama that night. This time it was a convoy of SWAT and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police (LVMPD) that entered the city to search for a home in connection with the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur.
He opened up to the rapper with a semi-automatic pistol just one block from the Las Vegas Strip
Two unknown assailants opened fire on the rapper with a semi-automatic handgun just a block from the Las Vegas Strip in 1996. The rapper died six days later at the age of 25. Tupac had already survived a shooting two years earlier when he was mugged at a Manhattan studio quad.
While authorities may have a possible new lead in the 27-year-old cold murder case, they certainly haven’t. All LVMPD was to reveal on Monday that a search warrant served on a property on Highway 11 and Wagon Wheel Drive was part of Tupac’s ongoing murder investigation.
The 1996 shooting occurred after Tupac was leaving Mike Tyson’s boxing match against Bruce Seldon at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. No one has been arrested in connection with the incident.
